Corpus Luteum. 02. Blood Flow.JPG (30224 bytes) Corpus Luteum. Bad Flow.JPG (29951 bytes)
This is an example of normal blood flow surrounding a corpus luteum.  See how "robust" the flow appears.  In real-time, "robust" flow was noted around virtually the entire periphery of the corpus luteum. This is an example of abnormal blood flow surrounding a corpus luteum.  See how "anemic" the flow appears.  In real-time, abnormally low flow was noted around the entire periphery of the corpus luteum.  This finding may be associated with unsuccessful cycles, unsuccessful pregnancies, habitual spontaneous aborters and luteal phase defects.  In my experience, this finding is of significant predictive value.
