Dr. Applebaum's Weight Management and Fitness Systems comprise five separate programs.  A comparison chart appears at the bottom of the page.  Weight management programs are designed for fat loss and muscle gain.

Most weight management programs are promoted by persons who either never used them or don't use them.  Dr. Applebaum has used and continues to use these programs.  Initially, he used one of the Pulse Diet tm Plans and Counter-Carbesity® Programs to shed some fat and begin adding lean muscle.  He currently uses them for maintenance.  He uses the Counter-Carbesity® GROWTH Program for 12 weeks each year to promote even more muscle gain. (Counter-Carbesity® GROWTH can be followed year-round.  Using it for 12 weeks is a choice made by Dr. Applebaum based upon his goals.)

Each program is custom designed to fit you.  There are different plans for men and women.  The plans also differ based upon your starting weight.

The Pulse Diet tm is your best choice if:

  • You want to lose any amount of weight through fat loss
  • This is your first attempt at dieting
  • You have dieted before, but were disappointed in the results
  • You are new to a fitness program
  • You prefer a less aggressive training program

Pulse PLUS is your best choice if:

  • You want to lose any amount of weight through fat loss
  • This is your first attempt at dieting
  • You have dieted before, but were disappointed in the results
  • You are new to a fitness program
  • You are willing to engage in a more aggressive training program

The Counter-Carbesity® Program is your best choice if:

  • You want to lose any amount of weight through fat loss
  • You have dieted before, but were disappointed in the results
  • You have been on a diet but can't seem to lose those "last few pounds"
  • You have been on a diet, but did not achieve the lean, fit body you wanted
  • You are willing to avoid red meat and pork
  • You are vegetarian or vegan
  • You prefer a less aggressive training program

The Counter-Carbesity® PLUS Program is your best choice if:

  • You want to lose any amount of weight through fat loss
  • You have dieted before, but were disappointed in the results

Carbesity® -- What it is

Carbesity® describes the failure to achieve fitness, health, appearance, weight management and training goals due to an inability to properly manage carbohydrate metabolism.

Carbesity® causes your body to be carbese tm.

Many of you will understand what I'm talking about because you have experienced miserable and disheartening outcomes despite your best efforts.  You've been on diets, you started training programs, you attempted to be fit and none of your efforts seemed to have succeeded.  You still look flabby, feel soft and are discouraged.  You ask yourself, "Why is this happening to me?  I've cut down on the calories and the fat I consume but I'm not getting the results I expected."

For many of us, the real problem is carbesity®.

You are probably carbese tm if you:

  • Do not have the body you desire
  • Have tried to achieve the body you desire and have failed
  • Are trying to achieve the body you desire and are not getting the results you want

The body that results from carbesity®, is characterized by one or more of the following:

  • Soft

  • Fatty

  • Flabby

  • Not lean

  • Unacceptable fitness level
